Privacy Policy for Image Toolkit

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how the Image Toolkit mobile application by AfterMango (hereinafter referred to as the “Operator”, “we”, or “our”) handles information when you use our app.

We believe that privacy is a fundamental right. This Policy applies to all information that we may receive about users of the Image Toolkit mobile app.

If you do not agree to this privacy policy, please do not use our Services.

Our Principles

We have designed this policy to be consistent with the following principles:

  • Privacy policies should be human-readable and easy to find.
  • Data collection, storage, and processing should be minimized as much as possible to enhance security.
  • Data practices should meet the reasonable expectations of users.

2. Information We Collect (and Don’t Collect)

Image Toolkit is designed to function with maximum privacy. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data or your photos.

No Accounts or Personal Data

Image Toolkit does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address. We do not collect your name, contact details, or any personally identifiable information.

100% On-Device Photo Processing

Every tool in Image Toolkit runs entirely on your mobile device. This includes compressing, converting, cropping, removing backgrounds, blurring faces, making passport photos, collages and GIFs, and reading text from an image. Your photos, and the files created from them, are never uploaded to our servers or sent to any third party, including our advertising partners. The models used for background removal, face detection and text recognition are built into the app, so these tools work without an internet connection.

Access Only to the Photos You Choose

Image Toolkit does not ask for permission to read your photo or video library. You choose photos (or, for the GIF maker, a short video) using Android’s own system picker, or by sharing them to the app from another app. Image Toolkit can only open the items you selected.

A result leaves the app only when you choose: you can save it to your gallery (in a Pictures/Image Toolkit folder), save it to a location you pick, or share it to another app.

Your Original Photos

The app never edits your original photos. Every result is a new file. Settings has an optional “Delete original” setting, which is off by default. If you turn it on, Android asks you to confirm each time before the original is moved to the system trash, where it can be recovered for 30 days.

Photo Metadata

Photos can contain hidden details such as GPS location and camera information. The Strip metadata tool removes these before you share a photo. The app reads these details only on your device to show you what a photo contains.

Information Stored on Your Device

Image Toolkit keeps a small amount of information in its private storage on your phone. None of it is sent to us:

  • Settings: your theme, accent colour, haptics and default tool choices.
  • Library history: a list of up to 50 results you saved, with their file names, the tool used and when they were made, so you can reopen them. You can clear it at any time with Clear history on the home screen.
  • Temporary files: results you have not saved yet and background cut-outs are kept in the app’s cache while you work. Unsaved results are deleted when you leave them or the next time the app starts.

If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the app’s settings and Library history in your Google account backup. That backup is managed by Google and we cannot access it. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. Photos you saved to your gallery stay on your device.

On-Device Google ML Kit

Face detection (used by Passport photo and Blur faces) and text recognition (used by Image to text) are provided by Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. Your photos and the text read from them are never sent to Google. Google states that ML Kit may send it usage and performance statistics, such as device and app information, to maintain and improve the service. See Google’s ML Kit terms.

Information Automatically Collected (Analytics & Ads)

To keep the app free, Image Toolkit shows an ad before a tool runs. A batch of photos counts as one run. Ads need an internet connection. If an ad cannot load, or you are offline, the tool runs anyway. We rely on the following standard third-party services:

  • Google Play Console Analytics: We only receive aggregated, anonymized install and usage statistics (such as installs, crashes, and ratings) directly through Google Play Console. We do not run any analytics or crash reporting SDK of our own inside the app.
  • Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), approximate location based on your IP address, app interactions, and diagnostic information, to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your device settings and choices. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
  • Meta Audience Network: Some ads are supplied by Meta Audience Network through AdMob mediation. When it is used, Meta may collect similar information, such as device identifiers, IP address, app and ad interaction data, and diagnostics, to deliver and measure ads. See Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Your Advertising Choices

Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform before any ad is requested, and an Ad privacy choices option appears in the app’s Settings so you can change your decision at any time. If ads cannot be shown because of your choice, every tool still works. Anywhere, you can reset your Advertising ID or turn off ad personalization in your Android device settings.

3. How We Use Information

The limited data described above is used solely to:

  • Serve advertisements to keep the application free.
  • Understand overall install and usage trends through Google Play Console.

4. When We Disclose Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we have none to sell, since your photos never leave your device. The only information shared with third parties is the device data collected directly by Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Google ML Kit and Google Play Console, for ad serving, service statistics and usage analytics. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.

5. Security Measures

Because Image Toolkit processes your photos entirely on your device, your photos are never transmitted over the network and never stored on our servers, eliminating the risk of your files being intercepted or exposed through us. Unsaved results can only be opened by another app when you share them.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we expand our Services or to comply with legal requirements. We encourage you to check this page periodically for updates.
